I've seen the PI strangulation that goes on with capturable customs. No thanks. I just don't see the point of CCP doing stuff like this. How does it make the game better? It certainly makes it worse for a casual who only has a couple hours each week.
Sorry dude. This is not a "lunch hour" game.
Why would you expect to make even a remotely similar profit as a casual player compared to a player who puts more time into the game? It's not the other player's fault that he has more time than you, is it? Then why should it be that a player who invests more into the game gets as much as you would?
This is not a debate as to WHY you have less time or WHY others have more time. Assuming your reason is "real life job", should an employee of your company who is part time get the same or even close amounts of pay and incentives that you do? I'm pretty sure you'd whine (like you're doing here) to your employer if that were the case. In fact, I know you would...
How about your "girlfriend"? Let's say you have one. You invest time and effort winning her over. You do all the right things and make a wonderful relationship with her. Providing not only the physical support she needs, but the emotional and day-to-day and long term needs in order to make a commitment and be content. Do you think it would be fair for some hunk-a-licious guy like me to stroll by in my fancy clothes, grab your girl's hand and lead her to my sex-on-wheels car and whisk her off to my beachfront home? No. You wouldn't.
I, for one, am getting sick of this type of mentality in players and even worse, the developers of games. I play EVE because it is NOT a "lunch hour" game. It saddens me to see the whiny Gold Star Attitude that players have adopted. And it makes it worse when the Devs cater to that horrible mentality, all for the sake of business (read: profit). Not realizing that a short and large influx of cash does not measure up to a long term steady and growing stream of income. Income over time > immediate profit.
Now, you CAN make the game (or your job or your relationships) into your preferred style if you think it out. And, that takes time. But expecting to just have that opportunity handed to you is unintelligent, unwise, childish, and immature on your part. Go ahead. Ask your "girlfriend". Ask her which she would prefer given an intelligent discussion and weighing the pros and cons of a wonderful weekend with me, which would result in a kick-to-the-curb after I got sick of her, or her walking out after I told her I have no long term plans for her, which she would REALLY like.
Stop this "lunch hour" mentality. This is not the style of this game. EVE is very similar to a 4X game that actually takes place in real time. Over months and years. And, you cannot spam "next turn" to get you to where you want.
There are other games that might meet your needs. I will not tell you which ones. I don't want to take the fun away from you.
EVE. Adapt to it. We will not adapt to you.
You're lucky that some changes have been implemented to allow a more relaxed style of player to take part in the wonderful adventure this game provides. However, if you're truly a casual gamer, you should look into console games. Consoles are designed directly for casual gamers.
Thank you,
